Defending Democracy
A Call to Action
The recent executive order Ensuring Accountability for All Agencies, issued on February 18, 2025, threatens the independence of federal regulatory bodies and consolidates power under the president. This shift is a dangerous move toward authoritarianism, undermining the checks and balances essential to democracy. We must act now to protect our rights and fight for a future of accountability.
Organizing for Change
The ongoing battle to defend democracy can learn from past movements, like Ukraine’s Euromaidan protests. A new strategy is emerging in the U.S. to create a sustainable, crowdfunded protest for as long as necessary. A core group will gather near the Capitol, building momentum and community support to keep the protest alive and effective. Whether you participate or contribute in other ways, every action counts.
Defending Healthcare and Civil Rights
At the same time, we must resist efforts to undermine healthcare and civil rights. The Make America Healthy Again Commission, despite its focus on wellness, raises concerns with its eugenics-inspired policies. Similarly, Trump’s healthcare agenda, which aims to roll back DEI programs and affirmative action, threatens marginalized communities.
Moving Beyond Symbolic Gestures
True change comes from grassroots efforts, not symbolic victories. The real battle lies in community action, where we can challenge oppressive systems and demand justice.
We are at a critical crossroads. The fight for democracy, healthcare, and civil rights requires action from all of us. Join the movement, resist the erosion of our freedoms, and help build a better future for all. Together, we can make a difference.
